Good enough is good enough.

Sometimes, we are so busy searching for perfection that we blindly walk past “that’ll do” or “good enough” and that’s a shame.

Perfection is overrated and is one of the biggest factors of procrastination. I am a life-long procrastinator and so often, I don’t start a project because I know it isn’t going to turn out exactly as I want it to.

I definitely need to remind myself that half-finished is way better than never started.

One of my more distinctive features is my tattoo collection. My latest tattoo, my 20th went a little bit wrong. It’s a Harry Styles quote, “be brave in love and other things”. That’s what I asked for, but it isn’t quite what I got…

The tattoo artist was mortified but  I was more stoic and said “it is what it is”. Yelling at her wouldn’t have helped her or me. The shop did invite me to come back once the tattoo had healed,  so the rogue B could be lasered into the E it was supposed to be but when it came to it, I decided against that.

It’s a very colourful, beautiful reminder that imperfection is everywhere. We live in an imperfect world and we can choose to focus on the flaws or we can concentrate on what’s right and that’s good enough.  I smile every time I catch sight of that random BB that should have been BE. It’s part of me now and it’s a daily reminder that good enough is good enough.

I’m sure we all wonder whether we are enough, if our work and the things we create are good enough. The answer to all of those is simply – yes. If everything you created was perfect, what would be left for you to work towards or aim for?

We are all works in progress  and we all should remember that good enough is good enough.
